I was recently asked if it was to late for this particular person to develope a relati0nship with God. My basic reply was that as long as you still have breath in your lungs then it there is still time.
Remember the thief on the cross? He didn’t have to jump through a bunch of theological/spiritual hoops to be forgiven and promised paradise. He simply acknowledged the divine nature of the Christ and asked for forgiveness. No he wasn’t baptised. No he didn’t live a life of service to the Lord. Yes he (apparently) lived a life of crime. However at the last moment he was able to recognise his sinfull nature and asked to be forgiven.
There is also the parable about the workers in the field. Some heard of the availability of a job and went early in the morning. They were told what they would receive for their labor. Others came at mid day and they too were told what their wages would be. Finally, still others came near the end of the day and they were also told what they would receive.
They when everyone came at the end of the day to receive what they were told they were entitled to the people who came at the first oppertunity and the ones who came at mid day felt as if they had been cheated. You see those who came at the end of the day were given the same “reward” as the others.
It matters not how young we are. It matters not how old we are. It matters not where we are born. It matters not what our family members believe. It only matters what decision each of us makes. And don’t think anyone will escapae by saying they were still seeking the truth. A time will come when we will have to answer as to what our decision was.
Will we serve the Lord or are there some selfish reasons we resist Him?
Remember not making a decision is a decision in and of it self.
Will you walk alone or will you walk with the Helper?
