Burn Baby Burn!

NOT ACTUAL CHURCH

I see in the news today that the church former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin attends was set on fire… while women were inside working on crafts.

Here’s a link to it:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/13/AR2008121302503_pf.html

Here’s another link about Palin apologizing to her pastor:

I suppose this was probably done by a tollerant non-believer.  Of course that is pure speculation on my part.  Just some nice guy full of the love of Jesus in his heart.  Probably only wanting them to be able to build a bigger church once this one is burned down.

I wonder what the motive could have been.  Hatred?  An out of work contractor?  Someone just trying to stay warm?  Someone who just likes to see a good fire?  Perhaps the person who set the fire did not like the crafts the ladies were making inside the church.  I guess it could be a resident of Alaska who wanted even more money from their energy income.

However, it is more likely that it is NOT a Republican.  More likely that it is someone who either: 1. Blames Governor Palin for the loss of the election (which would most likely be a Republican) or 2.  Someone who sees Governor Palin’s faith as something a tad bit strange.

I guess I could go on speculating but it will do no good.

It will be interesting to see how this story pans out.

My money is on a disgruntled, non-believer, leftist.

What happened to the “CHANGE”?  I thought everything would be okay now!

I always wonder who could do anything to a church?? There must just be something wrong with someone who would do something like this. Something inside is just broken.

Joy, I’m wondering if this person (or persons) really wanted to attack Governor Palin but couldn’t get close enough so they attacked something she values and has publically declaired is important to her.

This would be a national outrage if it were a mosque or a synagogue (as it should be). But a church burning (especially a conservative one) feels a little less outrage from the dominant media.

Oh well…reminds you of the Roman Empire.

    Help us Lord!

Servant, surely you are not saying there is a double standard when it comes to the manner in which Christians are treated? 😉

I have an online friend who lives in Palin’s town. She says that inside sources attribute the fire to some of the church’s youth. I’d hate that to be true. But in some ways it’s better than it being attributed to it being Palin’s church — to me at least.

    mssc54 replied:

Enola, I’m not sure which is worse: young people who are forming patterns of violant hatred or biggotted adults who demonstrate their long held violant hatred.

In eather case let us hope and pray that just prevails but most of all that hearts are softened and turned from destruction.
